Public
Training Institutions offer Information Sessions
On February 1st
and 2nd, 2005 representatives from the College of the North Atlantic and
the Marine Institute provided a series of information sessions on some
of the program options available. Approximately 80 individuals (both
plant workers and non plant workers) attended one of the four sessions
to hear about the programs and application process.

In addition,
representatives from
Human Resources and Skills Development Canada provided
participants with some information on funding available to assist any
person interested in pursuing retraining opportunities. It was
emphasized that the assistance available is determined on an individual
basis. Anybody interested in seeking funding assistance to pursue
training should contact the local Employment Assistance Office 885-2162
and arrange a meeting.
Private
Training Institutions hold Sessions
In addition to
the Public Institutions, on February 7th and 8th, 2005 representatives
from two private training institutions
Corona College
and DieTrac
were in the community providing information on their programs.
