Municipal:
Before starting any small business a visit to the Town Hall is
advisable. A variety of application forms required by the Department of
Government Services and Lands are available at the office.

A business tax is required of
any business being established in the Town of Harbour Breton.

You will need to contact the Town Office (709-885-2354) to enquire about zoning
guidelines or by email

Department of Government Services
and Lands: Depending on the type of business certain criteria will
need to be met, this may involve permits and licensing issues, accessibility, fire
regulations, crown lands, environmental requirements,
incorporating a
business etc... The Department of Government Services and Lands will be
able to provide you with many of the application forms that you will
required (depending on the good or service you will be providing) in
order to properly set up your business.
